Anushka Manchanda has a versatile personality; she is a singer, model and VJ. There was group of Indian pop girl and Anushka was member of that group. Though she is not as popular as a playback singer in Bollywood as Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal but she has really made a place for herself in the Indian film industry because of her powerful rock-star like voice.

Her birth place is Delhi and she was born on 11 February, 1985. Her mother Terry is a Reiki master. When Anushka was just seven year old her family brought her a piano because of her interest in music. It is being said that Anushka could not go to college because she moved to Mumbai for taking part in Channel [V] Popstars.

Anushka became popular when she appeared as a winner of the Indian television talent show in 2002. She is the one who formed the first group of Indian pop girl and named it as Viva. Though this group did not last long and it got split due to differences between them and after that Anushka worked as a VJ for short period.

In 2004 she started her career as a playback singer for Tamil Film Industry. She sang a song called ‘O Mahire’ for Tamil film ‘Manmadhan’, its music composer was well-known Yuvan Shankar Raja. It was a successful song. After that she worked under the direction of Yuvan Shankar Raja and sang for many films there.

In 2006 she got the opportunity to work as a playback singer for Bollywood Film Golmaal. She sang title song of this film which was composed by Vishal Shekhar. And after that she got many opportunities to work with famous Bollywood Film’s composers such as Salim-Sulaiman, Anu Malik, Pritam and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and sang many Bollywood songs. So far she has worked as a playback singer for many Bollywood films such as No One Killed Jessica, Golmaal 3, We Are Family, Lafangey Parindy, Aisha, Krantiveer – The Revolution, Kites, Teen Patti, Chak De India, Kambakkht Ishq etc.

Recently she has sung the remake song Dum Maaro Dum which is a super hit now a day. This song has been featured on Deepika Padukone and she has done fabulous performance.

She has also done a cameo role in Bollywood film ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’, she also sang few songs for this film. She has taken part in few reality shows on TV such as MTV Pulsar Stunt Mania, Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 2. She not only took part in Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 2 but she also became winner of this show in that season.

She has received Stardust Award for her song – ‘Naughty Naughty’ for Bollywood Film ‘Cash’.
