Sujatha (Sujatha Mohan)


Sujatha Mohan (Malayalam: സുജാത മോഹന്‍) is an Indian playback singer, who is popular for her singing in Malayalam and Tamil movies. She has also sang for Telugu and Hindi movies.

Sujatha Mohan is the granddaughter of Paravur T. K. Narayana Pillai, the first Chief Minister of the erstwhile Cochin State after Independence. Her only daughter Shweta Mohan is also a singer.

Her first song was "kannezhuthy pottuthottu" when she was in sixth standard(Tourist Bangalav- a malayalam film- music director - M.K.Arjunan.)

Kalai Paniyil from the Tamil Film Gayathri (1977), starring Sridevi, Rajinikanth, music by Ilayaraja. Her first Tamil hit film song was Puthu Vellai Mazhai from Mani Ratnam's 1992 film Roja, composed by A. R. Rahman. She has had other hit songs from films including Gentleman (1993), Indian (1996) and Minsaara Kanavu (1997).

Her first actual film is TOURIST BUNGALOW - Malayalam released in 1974.
Her first Tamil film song ('Kaadhal Oviyam Kandein') was not included in the film. However she took it as a good sign.
